Click-a-day Day 5—Our Morning

I’ve been practicing this shoot for the last 3 days. There were a few challenges that I needed to overcome, such as making sure that no cars, parents or kids were in the frame; I was able to keep my kids in the car until it was all clear! I knew that cooperation from my kids was going to be difficult, so I had only one shot and I’m happy with the results.

Our Morning—Day 5

I had on my camera, the Nikkor 50mm/1.4G lens, go I was able to capture this dandelion on my way back. During this challenge I would like to try capture this same image but with my macro adapter lens.

Thank you for stopping by.

Click-a-day Day 2—Something Old

Since I can remember, my son has always loved to wear converse shoes, and today was an important day for our family as he decided to say goodbye to his special old shoes. Tomorrow, of course, will be a very interesting day when he realizes that the good old shoes are gone for good.

I used my new Nikon D7100, and Lensbaby Composer lens for this shoot.

The City of the World, New York

It has been 10 years since I left behind New York to persue a new life in the Washington, DC area. This weekend my family and I took a trip to New York city, and it felt good to be there again. The kids had fun in Central Park, and of course they were impressed with the skyscrapers and all the lights. From all the cities I’ve been, New York still has my {❤}.

Home Sweet Home

Well… where should I start…few weeks ago, we got together with some friends and discussed the possibility of making a 6-7 hr trip by car to the beach. For wherever reason we thought that it was going to be to too long of a trip for the kids, so as crazy as it sounds, we ended up in Mexico…yes that’s right!

I never thought that this trip would of turned out to be one of the best family vacations we had so far!

I can’t say enough about how beautiful the water and sand is in Cancun. Because we visited during low season, we got the beach almost to ourselves. The food was great, and the service was incredible. The wildlife we encountered there was incredible too, there are so many kinds of birds and sealife that we don’t get to experience here.

The kids really enjoyed playing in the beach, making sandcastles, picking up seashells, and going for long walks along the shore. Making the decision to make this crazy trip with friends, made it so much enjoyable, and we are so grateful to have friends that we can call family.

After we got back, my daugther and I made a delicious cake to celebrate friendship, and sweet times we’ll miss!

Until next time!

Thinking of You

Hi there, today I have a simple card with a punch of color. This past weekend I went to the store and grabbed two new stamps, with the hope of getting my mojo back. I started by experimenting with gold embossing powder, some liquid glossy finish and this is the result.

I envisioned a card with contrast, but yet neutral, so I decided to use craft and pink paper stocks. I stamped the flower with embossing ink and used gold embossing powder. I colored part of the flower with a pink copic marker and added some liquid glaze for a finish glossy look. I then cutted and pasted the pink flowers on the craft paper and added some doddling with white gel pen. Here is a closed up.

I decided to stamp the sentiment using black ink, but after I did, I had my regrets; I’m sure it would of look better with brown instead. I’m glad to be back, and I hope to continue to create and share more of my craft projects.  Thank you for visiting.
